In the deep darkness of the Forest of Arden, my hidden existence as a talented witch coexists with my secret affair with the young playwright William Shakespeare. Our union was woven by a spell, an enchantment that gave birth to the sweet and tragic Ophelia in one of his most famous plays, “Hamlet.” But our magical world is much more complex than it seems.
Deep in the forest, our coven is governed by my sister, Ophelia. She is the opposite of the sweet and fragile Ophelia that we created to entertain viewers. My sister, instead of pining, is strong, powerful and ambitious.
When the play “Hamlet” premieres, my sister casts a spell on the audience, forcing them to request a story featuring young Ophelia. I opposed the idea, fearing I would harm William and betray our secret. But events took an unexpected turn.
My sister fell seriously ill, a mysterious illness that shook our coven. On her deathbed, she implored me to reveal our existence to the world, to make our magic known through a play, but this time without William’s help.
At first I resisted. I didn’t want to challenge William, or come out of the shadows. But the promise made to my sister was sacred. I had to honor his last wish.
Thus was born the play “Ophelia”, a deep and captivating work, where magic, love and tragedy intertwine. I used my powers to write this story, guided by my sister’s legacy.
The play was acclaimed, and Ophelia’s name became synonymous with mystery and power. I finally decided to come out of the shadows to reveal my true identity as a witch and a writer.
However, my quest to challenge William Shakespeare as the greatest playwright of all time does not mean the end of our secret affair. The destiny of our relationship is yet to be written, and I continue to exercise my powers to bring to life extraordinary stories that transcend time and space. The Forest of Arden still holds many mysteries, and I am determined to explore them with pen and magic.
